PRE-REGISTRATION INFORMATION
FOR PARENTS AND STUDENTS
Pre-Registration for students who will attend COPPER HILLS HIGH SCHOOL next year (2012-2013) will begin January 25, 2012. Materials will be distributed to incoming SOPHOMORES February 8 at Sophomore Orientation Night, and to next year’s SENIORS & JUNIORS January 25 in their Language Arts class.
Materials include a pre-registration card, instructions for pre-registration, and an individual student Graduation Requirement check list. A listing of courses offered at COPPER HILLS HIGH SCHOOL can be found on the Coppers Hills web site.
Working with these materials should result in the successful completion of a Pre-Registration Card for the 2012-2013 school year. To complete the pre-registration process, follow the steps outlined below:
1.Read the “Instructions for Pre-Registration” information. A listing of COURSES OFFERED at COPPER HILLS HIGH SCHOOL can be found on the Copper Hills web site. Please notice the columns listing those grades (10, 11, 12) that may enroll in the class, as well as the pre-requisites for each class.
2. Determine what courses are needed for your student to be on line to graduate by reviewing the graduation requirements printed on the pre-registration card, and your student’s current academic progress.
3. Complete all parts of the pre-registration card. Make sure all required courses have been selected, then carefully review the elective course choices. (Students MUST sign up for the equivalent of 8 full-year courses; 2 semesters = 1 full-year course.) Students must also list two (2) alternate full-year courses AND two (2) alternate semester courses as it is not always possible to schedule students into all of their first-choice elective courses.
4. 2012-2013 Sophomores - Please sign and return the pre-registration card to your current LANGUAGE ARTS TEACHER on
Tuesday, February 14 for Sunset Ridge Middle
Thursday, February 16 for West Hills Middle
Friday, February 17 for Elk Ridge Middle
(Be sure that both parent and student signatures are on the pre-registration card. Your signatures indicate approval of the course selections.)
It is important that students attending these schools return their Pre-Registration Card to their LANGUAGE ARTS TEACHER
no later than the date listed above!
The Copper Hills High School Counselors will pick up schedules and be available to review the cards and answer questions according to the following schedule:
Sunset Ridge Middle Tuesday, February 14
West Hills Middle Thursday, February 16
Elk Ridge Middle Friday, February 17
5. 2012-2013 Senior & Junior pre-registration cards will be collected through your U.S. History, World Civilizations or AP European History class.
Current 11th grade students - February 6 & 7
Current 10th grade students - February 9 & 10
Please complete your pre-registration card including parent and teacher signatures.
With the large number of students anticipated to attend COPPER HILLS HIGH next year and our need to prepare to meet each student’s educational needs, this pre-registration process is very important. Please choose your courses wisely.
This pre-registration card will prepare us for the next step of arena scheduling. More information will be forthcoming on arena scheduling.
Thank you in advance for carefully and properly pre-registering for the 2012-2013 school year.
Pre-registration starts in January, 2012 for the 2012-2013 school year.
