| Horrocks, Amber |
Students Last Name: Le-Og |
I attended BYU Hawaii and the University of Utah for my undergrad education. I graduated with degrees in both Psychology and Human Family Development. After obtaining my degrees I worked as a social service worker for the Division of Child and Family Services. It was a challenging job, but I learned a great deal about working with and serving families and youth. I recently earned my Master Degree in School Counseling, and love what I do. I love Copper Hills High and how supportive we are of one another. I was previously known as Ms. Rudd, but over the summer I got hitched and am now known as Mrs. Horrocks. I love spending time with my husband and my family. I love to dance, camp, travel, explore, read, work out, shop and do random crafty projects. I am also a fan of food, and trying out new things... I always say you should try everything once!!! I am excited for what life has to offer, I do not believe in “stupid questions”, and I feel that your imagination can get you anywhere.... so think BIG and believe in yourself!!! |

I have been in school counseling since I graduated from BYU in 1994 with my MEd in Educational Psychology. I must love it because I continue to come towork! I graduated from BYU in 1991 as well with a BS degree in Psychology. I have worked in many different settings: first as a counselor at Dixie Middle School in St. George and also at Lehi Jr. High in Lehi. Then as a high school counselor at Lehi High and East Shore High in Orem; and also as an adult high school counselor at Mountainland Regional Learning Center also in Orem. I absolutely LOVE the students here at Copper Hills - they are the hardest working kids on the west side! I have three young children and my husband works at the University of Utah. I have to give the Utes some kudos but I will always be TRUE BLUE! I enjoy spending time with my family, reading, and going to concerts, plays and movies. |

Counseling, Credt Tracking, Graduation & Registration for Sm-Z |
I arrived at Copper Hills High School from the state of California last October 5th, 2009 and saw a beautiful campus, a dedicated and energetic staff, and hard-working gifted students! The campus I left was south of the Fresno area, and barely half of the senior class graduated, which was a heartache to all. I am blessed to be with such diligent and devoted students who engage in an excellent curriculum taught by great teachers. I earned my Bachelor and Master of Arts degrees from the University of Montana in 1979 and 1980 respectively, moved to California with my family and began a career in school counseling that same year in the Stockton/Lodi area. I earned my Doctoral degree in Counseling Psychology in 1985 and my Marriage and Family Therapy license in 1989. I have my parents to thank for helping instill in me a love for learning and academic achievement, and I believe I share that with the students and staff here. I was blessed for many years in California, but the economy there was hard hit and through a dear friend here I learned of an opportunity to work with all of you at Copper Hills High School.. It is also appropriate that i mention that our principal, Mr. Todd Quarnberg, helps direct and lead the vision here and is another tireless worker for the student, parent, and teaching community. The pursuit of excellence here is evident everywhere and I have been proud and delighted to be a part of it! |
